VIDEO 100. MANYETES 2005. CLOS MOGADOR
November 15. 2014
René and Isabelle Barbier acquired the Clos Mogador winery at the end of the 1970s – an old estate in Grattalops in the Siuran valley, known for its good slate soil. Manyetes is NOT a single vineyard wine, rather it´s a wine from a specific area. René tried to explain in Spanish, that Manyetes is “una zona”.
Watch this review video for Manyetes 2005 from Clos Mogador.
Wine region: Priorat
Classification: D.O.Q. Priorato
Variety: Cariñena, Garnacha, Syrah
Manyetes 2005 from Clos Mogador is a bend of 70% Cariñena, 25% Garnacha and 5% Syrah. Dark garnet-red coloured and border to the rim. Fragrant and irresistibly. Manyetes 2005 exhibits a full impact of sanguine, red cherries, blackberries, licorice, graphite, clove and pimento. Very complex on the nose. Fresh and deep concentrated on the palate. No bad jammy-effect with a refreshing acidity and fine-grained tannins. The minerality is flamboyant. Long Finish. Marvellous, René. Drink now through 2030+.
