VIDEO 019. RUINART PART.1
June 3. 2011
The discovery of champagne was the result of the untiring study of the foaming wine of the Benedictine monks Dom Perignon and Dom Thierry Ruinart at the beginning of the 17th century. With the foundation of the house Ruinart in 1729 by Nicolas Ruinart, this maison is the oldest champagne house ever.
The face of the oldest champagne house, is actually a rather young one. Frédéric Panaïotis was merely 43 years old in 2007 when he was put in charge of winemaking at this house belonging to the prestigious LVMH collection.
Frédéric Paniotis and Piero are tasting and talking about Ruinart Champagne in this episode of The Wine Show.
